Me at Breakwater '79

This pic was taken by i dont know who, of my friends and me at the breakwater in venice back in the late 70s. A friend found it on some venice pix site, and sent to me. I had never seen it before. that wall, our wall is not there anymore. the waves break on the south side of the breakwater now instead of the north. Nothing is the same. But the new generation loves the place, surfs it and calls it home, just as we did and i guess thats whats important. The new generation. Many a memorial and ashes scattered out beyond those rocks of our lost loved ones. Very meaningful part of venice to us.

Julies bird

I never could paint or draw, but a few years ago i had this urge to learn how. My father got me all the junk i needed including a few books and left me alone to go to japan for a few weeks and i spent every day painting. I am glad i saved everything cause you can see where i couldnt draw a straight line to actually creating images that look like something. One day ill learn how to do 3D lol. What i love most and need most about painting are the colors. the freedom to create any thing out of any color. like a red roof or a purple door. I love how images appear, and i just go with it... i never know what a painting is going to be of, until it unfolds. It shows me. I just obey. And its not often anymore that i can see anything when i look for what to paint. I should take a class. I should do a lot of things. Anyway, this is a small portion of this painting as its all that would fit in the scannner.
